Thomas is incredibly timid and seems to have little self confidence. While he may cry easily, though, he isn't a quitter. His attitude to war is the same as Paul. The most notable trait of Thomas is his consideration for others, caring for everyone, even those he has just met.

Aside from the standard skills he was taught in the Infantry Division, Thomas has yet to demonstrate any other notable skill.
Relationship[]
Bernd Baltzar[]
The fact that Baltzar has chosen Thomas to be one of the representatives for Baselland Royal Military Academy means that the former has taken an interest in Thomas. On the other hand, Thomas simply thinks of Baltzar as an instructor.
Marcel Jansen[]
Marcel is in the same year and division as Thomas, and also a good friend of his. Whenever Thomas is reprimanded by the instructors, Marcel would purposely make a mistake to take the fall for the former.
